2. Disconnect the brake hose from the rack and steering knuckle Unscrew the brake caliper mounting bolts, take it aside and hang it on a wire. Remove the guide and dismantle the brake disc (see chapter 9).
3. Disconnect the transverse link from the steering knuckle (see section 25).
4. On models of release 1984-1987. remove the reaction arm ball joint from the steering knuckle (see section 7). On models since 1988, remove the lower control arm from the ball joint at the bottom of the steering knuckle (see section 11).
5. On models of release 1984-1987. remove the pinch bolt from the top end of the knuckle (see fig. 2.3) and with light blows on the fist and hub, remove the lower end of the rack.

10. On models of release 1984-1987. connect the upper end of the knuckle to the lower end of the strut, remember to align the projection of the strut with the slot of the knuckle (see section 2). Install the tie bolt and torque to specification.
11. On 1988 and later models, connect the top end of the knuckle to the upper arm ball stud (see section 12). Tighten the ball stud nut to specification.
12. On models of release 1984-1987. connect the lower end of the knuckle to the reaction arm ball joint (see section 7). On models since 1988, connect the ball pin from below the knuckles to the lower arm (see section 11).
