Steering knuckle (Odyssey V6)Steering knuckle (Odyssey V6): 1. Shock absorber tightening bolt; 2. Nut; 3. Bearing (replace); 4. Spring ring; 5. Mud deflector; 6. Screw with washer; 7. Brake disc mounting screw; 8. Cap; 9. Wheel nut; 10. Hub nut (replace)
Before installation, lubricate the thrust surface of the nut
After tightening, lock the nut
Removal
1. Unlock the hub nut by removing the bent flange from the axle shaft groove.
2. Unscrew the hub nut.
3. Loosen the wheel mounting nuts.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Remove the wheel.
6. Unscrew the caliper and brake hose mounting bolts. Move the support to the side and secure it.
7. Loosen the ABS sensor mounting bolts and remove the sensor.
8. Disconnect the steering rod end from the knuckle.
9. Press the ball joint out of the lower arm.
10. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey vehicles, disconnect the upper control arm step support.
11. On Odyssey V6 vehicles, remove the bolts and nuts securing the strut to the steering knuckle.
12. Remove the steering knuckle, tap it with a soft hammer if necessary, splines.
13. On CR-V and Odyssey V6 vehicles, press out the hub assembly with the bearing (see below).
14. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, remove the bolts and hub.
15. Remove the mud deflector.
16. Check the condition of the wheel studs; replace damaged studs.
Installation
17. Install the mud deflector.
18. On Odyssey V6 and CR-V vehicles, install the wheel bearing, snap ring and hub.
19. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, install the hub with the bearing assembly, tighten the mounting bolts to 44 Nm.
20. Further installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the fasteners to the specified torques.
