Interior climate control system (Honda Civic 6)

Only for vehicles equipped with automatic air conditioning.



The automatic climate control system installed in your car automatically selects a combination of the heater, air conditioner and ventilation system modes to ensure stabilization of the set air temperature in the passenger compartment. In addition, the system regulates the fan speed and controls the air distribution throughout the passenger compartment. Outside atmospheric air enters the climate control system through the intake grille located in front of the windshield. Periodically clean the openings of the intake grille from leaves and other debris that impede the passage of air.

In order for the climate control system to be able to heat and cool the air entering the passenger compartment, the vehicle's engine must be running.

You can adjust the direction of the air flow coming into the cabin from the central and side ventilation deflectors using the controls. Direct the air in the desired direction by moving the deflectors' levers left-right and up-down.





The air supply through the side ventilation deflectors located on the left and right side of the control panel can be completely stopped.



To close or open the side deflector, turn the control located on the side of the deflector.

The ventilation deflector, located on the upper shelf of the control panel, can be opened or closed using the lever, which is located between the central ventilation deflectors.

If one of the air distribution modes is enabled or , then in the upper position of the lever, air will enter the car interior simultaneously through the central and upper ventilation deflectors.



To stop air flowing through the upper deflector, push the lever all the way down.

System operation in automatic mode

To turn on the automatic mode of the system, press the AUTO button and then set the desired air temperature by turning the control knob. When the system is turned on, the indicator light built into the AUTO button will light up and the FULL AUTO indicator will be displayed.

Button indicator on indicates that the system is operating in recirculation mode without access of outside air to the car interior. If the indicator of this button is not lit, the system is operating in normal mode.

To quickly warm up or cool down the air in the passenger compartment, turn the temperature control knob clockwise or counterclockwise to the extreme position. This sets the upper (32°C) or lower (18°C) limit of the adjustable temperature. In the extreme positions of the air temperature control, the system will operate in constant mode, without switching off, heating or cooling the air with the highest possible efficiency. If the temperature control knob is set to one of the intermediate positions between 19°C and 31°C, the system will automatically maintain the set air temperature in the car.





In cold weather, the fan turns on automatically only after the engine has been running for some time and the heater is ready to heat the air.

Pressing the OFF button completely switches off the climate control system. The system should not be switched off for any length of time. To avoid stagnant air in the cabin and the appearance of foreign odors, it is recommended to keep the fan on at all times.

Operation of the system in semi-automatic mode

You can manually turn on any function of the climate control system when it is in automatic mode. At the same time, automatic control of all other functions of the system is maintained. Pressing any button switches the system to semi-automatic mode. The indicator built into the AUTO button and the FULL indicator on the display turn off.

Air conditioner power button

The air conditioner is turned on and off by pressing the A/C button. The air conditioner status is shown by the corresponding indicator on the display: ON (On) or OFF (Off). If you manually turn off the air conditioner, the microclimate control system will not be able to maintain the temperature of the air entering the cabin below the ambient temperature. With the air conditioner running, set the air temperature to a comfortable level using the control knob.

Air recirculation mode activation button

Button with symbol is designed to turn on and off the air recirculation mode. If the light indicator built into this button is on, then the air from the car's interior is constantly circulated through the microclimate control system (recirculation mode). If the indicator is not lit, fresh air from the atmosphere enters the passenger compartment, which is preliminarily adjusted to the specified requirements in the microclimate control system. You can manually turn on the recirculation mode, for example, when driving in a smoky or polluted atmosphere. When the recirculation mode is turned on, the indicator built into the button lights up.

Fan speed control button

The button allows you to manually adjust the fan speed. When you first press the button, the fan switches from automatic to manual control mode and starts working at the lowest speed. Each subsequent press of the button results in a stepwise increase in the fan speed. The current fan speed step is displayed on the display as a graphic indicator (vertical stripes). After reaching the highest fan speed level, pressing the button again switches the fan to the lowest level.

Air distribution mode switching button

The MODE button is used to switch the air distribution modes in the car's interior. Each time you press the button, the modes are switched in a certain sequence. The enabled mode is displayed on the display by a corresponding indicator. Press the button four times to view all possible air distribution modes.

In all air distribution modes, a certain portion of the air flow enters the passenger compartment through the side ventilation deflectors.



The main part of the air flow enters the cabin through the central and side ventilation deflectors located in the control panel.

Air enters the cabin simultaneously through the central and side ventilation deflectors in the control panel and the lower ventilation openings, which provide air to the footwell area of the driver and passengers.

The main part of the air flow enters the cabin through the lower ventilation nozzles.

Air enters the passenger compartment simultaneously through the windshield and side window blower nozzles located on the upper shelf of the control panel, and through the lower ventilation nozzles.

When you click on the button with the symbol the main part of the air flow is directed to blowing the windshield, which ensures its rapid defrosting. This button has priority and cancels the preset air distribution mode. To remove frost or ice from the windshield more quickly, set the air temperature regulator at 28°C – 30°C.

Then click on the button and turn the fan on at maximum speed. To turn off the windshield blowing mode, press the button with the symbol again .

Air temperature sensors

The climate control system includes air temperature sensors located near the steering column and on the upper shelf of the control panel. Do not cover the sensors with anything and do not allow any liquids to come into contact with them.
