
1. Place the transmission control lever in Park or Neutral and set the parking brake. Pull the hood release handle, which is located on the left side under the dashboard. This will raise the hood slightly.

2. Standing in front of the car, place the fingers of your right hand under the front edge of the hood (to the right of the center of the hood). Then move this hand to the left and feel for the additional hood latch handle. Move this handle to the left end to release the hood. Raise the hood.

3. Release the support rod from the holder and insert its end into the socket on the inside of the hood. The socket is located on the right when viewed from the front of the car. To close the hood, lift it slightly and remove the end of the support rod from the hood socket. Put the rod back in place and insert it into the holder. Lower the hood to a height of about 30 cm above the front cross member of the body and then release it. The hood lock should close.
