Checking the Ignition Switch/Ignition Switch Backlight

1. Remove the lower instrument panel cover (see chapter Body).

2. Remove the steering column cover (see chapter Steering).

3. Disconnect the 7-pin connector from the steering column lock assembly.

4. Apply voltage from the battery to contacts No.7 (+) and No.6 (-) of the 7-pin connector and make sure that the ignition switch illumination lights up.

5. Make sure there is continuity between contacts #1 and #3 only with the ignition key inserted.
