2. Before starting the oil change procedure, prepare all the necessary tools and consumables.
3. It is more convenient to change the oil and filter from below, i.e. on a flyover, lift or in the presence of a viewing hole.
4. It is advisable to change the oil on a warm engine, so be careful when working near the exhaust system.
5. So, warm up the engine, turn it off, open the oil filler cap.
6. Install the car on the pit.
7. Place a container under the sump cap and unscrew the cap. Caution: hot oil.
8. Drain the oil and inspect it for the presence of metallic spangles.
9. Wipe the plug. Even small metallic inclusions will quickly render fresh oil unusable.
10. Wipe the pallet, install the plug.
11. Place a container under the oil filter.
12. Unscrew the filter by turning it counterclockwise. If the filter does not unscrew, pierce its body with a beard and unscrew it with a long screwdriver.
13. Wipe the mating surface of the block. If necessary, remove traces of the old seal.
14. Lubricate the seals of the new filter with engine oil and install it in place. As soon as the gasket touches the block, tighten the filter by hand an additional 3/4 turn.
15. On models since 1991, some filters are marked with numbers (1 to 8) on the sidewall. If this type of filter is installed on your car, then lubricate the seal with oil, tighten the filter until the gasket contacts the block and turn the filter by hand for another seven marking positions.
16. Remove drained oil and tools.
17. Fill in fresh oil through the neck in the camshaft cover. From the beginning, fill with approximately 3 liters. wait a few minutes and check the oil level with the dipstick. If the level is close to the upper mark, close the cap and start the engine.
18. Let the engine run for about a minute. At this time, make sure there is no oil leakage.
19. Stop the engine, wait a few minutes and recheck the oil level.
