Sooner or later, it is time to make adjustments, especially if the frequency of maintenance was not observed. The first step in engine diagnostics is to measure the compression pressure ("compression"). Measurement of "compression" (Chapter 2) will answer the question about the condition of many internal engine components. Below is the procedure for conducting diagnostics.
Minor adjustments
- battery maintenance,
- liquid level control,
- belt tension adjustment,
- replacement of spark plugs,
- inspection of the distributor cap and rotor, high-voltage wires,
- idle speed adjustment,
- inspection of the air filter,
- replacement of rubber hoses.
Major adjustments
- eGR system control,
- ignition system control,
- charging system control,
- fuel system control,
- replacement of the air filter, distributor cap and high-voltage wires.
