Engine oil
2. The oil dipstick is located on the left front of the engine.
3. Level control is carried out no earlier than 15 minutes after the engine is stopped.
4. The oil level should be between the two holes on the dipstick. The volume of oil between the lower and upper level is about 1 liter.
5. Adding oil is carried out through the filler neck in the cover of the valve mechanism.
6. Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
7. Check the condition of the oil for dirt, metal on the dipstick, water droplets or oil cloudiness (in this case, the oil has a dirty gray color, indicating that water has entered the oil).
Coolant
8. On the vehicles described in this manual, the engine cooling system is made according to a forced circulation scheme under pressure. The fluid level in the expansion tank varies depending on the degree of heating of the engine.
9. Check the coolant level regularly: on a cold engine, the level should be on the M IN·mark of the expansion tank, on a warm one, on the MAX mark. You can add small amounts of water, but you should not do this as a rule, otherwise you will break the proportion of water and ethylene glycol.
10. If the fluid level drops rapidly, inspect the system for leaks. If no leaks are found, check the operation of the radiator cap.
11. Remove the cover only when the engine is cold.
12. When checking the level, check the condition of the coolant. If it changes color to brown, drain the coolant, flush the system and refill with fresh antifreeze.
13. Replace antifreeze at the recommended interval - follow safety precautions.
Washer fluid
14. The washer reservoir is located in front of the engine compartment. In mild climates, use special solutions, but not antifreeze: it spoils the car's paint.
Battery electrolyte level
15. Most Honda vehicles have maintenance-free batteries. However, if a serviceable battery is installed, check the electrolyte level in all six banks: it should be between the two marks. Add distilled water if necessary.
Brake fluid level
16. The brake fluid reservoir is mounted on the master brake cylinder, which, in turn, is mounted on the brake booster.
17. The fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX marks.
18. Before topping up the fluid, wipe the reservoir and neck from dirt.
19. Add only recommended fluid. Mixing two different types of liquids is not allowed. Proper filling of the tank - 19 mm below the MAX mark - it will rise when the tank cover is replaced.
20. With the cap removed, inspect the reservoir for damage and dirt in the brake fluid. If dirt is found, change the fluid,
21. Close the reservoir lid tightly.
22. If the reservoir was empty, bleed the brake system, see chapter 9.
