1. Before troubleshooting the wiper/washer system, check fuses #0 (7.5 A) and #38 (30 A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
2. Disconnect the connectors from the fuse and relay box located under the control panel.
Note: The view of all connectors is shown from the wire side of the output terminals.
3. Check the terminals of the socket and connector to ensure that they are in good contact.
If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them and recheck the connections for quality.
If the terminals are OK, proceed to step 4.
4. Without connecting the connectors, perform these input signal tests on the corresponding connector
If any test reveals a fault, find and correct it and repeat the test.
If all input signal checks do not reveal a fault, proceed to step 5.

5. Connect all under-dash fuse/relay box connectors and perform these tests on the corresponding fuse/relay box connector inputs.
If any test reveals a fault, find and correct the cause and repeat the test.
If all input signal tests do not reveal a fault, the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU) is obviously faulty; replace the fuse and relay box assembly.

Checking the windshield washer motor
1. Remove the right engine compartment shield.
2. Disconnect the 2P connector A of the washer pump motor B.
3. Check the washer motor by connecting power from the battery to terminal #1 of the motor connector and connecting terminal #2 to ground. The motor should work.
If the electric drive does not work or works with sticking, replace it.

If the washer motor operates normally, but the washing fluid is not supplied or is supplied insufficiently, check whether the hose is disconnected from the nozzle, whether the nozzle opening or the pump outlet is blocked.
Checking the headlight washer motor
1. Remove the right engine compartment shield.
2. Disconnect the 2P connector A of the headlight washer motor B.
3. Check the washer motor by connecting power from the battery to terminal #1 of the motor connector and connecting terminal #2 to ground. The motor should work.
If the electric drive does not work or works with sticking, replace it.
If the washer motor operates normally, but the washing fluid is not supplied or is supplied insufficiently, check whether the hose is disconnected from the nozzle, whether the nozzle opening or the pump outlet is blocked.

Checking the windshield wiper motor
1. Disconnect 5P connector A from windshield wiper motor B.
2. Check the wiper motor by applying battery power to terminal #3 of the motor connector and connecting terminal #2 of the 5P motor connector to ground. The motor should run at low speed. If the motor does not run or runs intermittently, replace it.
3. Check the wiper motor by applying battery power to terminal #5 of the motor connector and connecting terminal #2 of the 5P motor connector to ground. The motor should run at high speed. If the motor does not run or runs intermittently, replace it.
4. Reconnect the 5P connector. Connect an analog ohmmeter to terminals #4 and #2 and turn on the low or high speed of the wiper motor by activating the wiper switch. The ohmmeter needle should pulse. If the ohmmeter reading is different from the specified value, replace the wiper motor.
