2. Remove the air grill or fairing, being careful not to break the end. It is held on with plastic clips, the heads look like screws. Remove the plastic insert or seal from the bottom of the fairing.
3. Slide the link rod out of the engine drive arm. This ball-and-socket type joint can be very difficult to separate. On 1990-91 ACCORD vehicles, remove the center nut and washer to separate the engine drive arm from the joint.
4. If the engine has a protective cover, remove it.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
6. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the engine.

7. If you are going to remove the joint, disconnect the rods from the wiper pivot points. The ball-in-socket joint must be disassembled carefully.
8. The pivot pins are screwed to the insulation partition and can be unscrewed for replacement.
9. Reassemble in reverse order. Make sure the connection to the motor is secure. Tighten the mounting bolts to 10 Nm. When installing the wiper arms, leave a gap of 25 mm between the glass and the blade. If the wipers deviate significantly from the desired position - above or below - they will slap too hard when working on wet glass.
