Checking the door lock cylinder switch (Honda Civic 8)

1. Remove the driver's door panel.

2. Disconnect the 10-terminal block (10P) connector from the lock cylinder switch.

3. Check the connection between the terminals.

There should be a connection between terminals #8 [7] and #5 [10] when the door lock cylinder switch is in the "LOCK" position.

There should be no connection between terminals #8 [7] and #5 [10] when the door lock cylinder switch is in the neutral or unlocked position.


There should be a connection between terminals #9 [6] and #5 [10] when the door lock cylinder switch is in the unlocked position" ("UNLOCK").

There should be no connection between terminals #9 [6] and #5 [10] when the door lock cylinder switch is in the neutral or locked position.

4. If the connection is not as specified, replace the door lock cylinder assembly.
