
Note: Separation of rubber from the cord on the inner side is not allowed (from the side of the ridges) and the outer surface of the belt, exposed or damaged cord, delamination of the ridge from the rubber base, presence of cracks, delamination or wear on the side surfaces of the belt and on the side surfaces of the belt ridges. Replace the belt if necessary.

Note: The check must be performed on a cold engine or at least 30 minutes after the engine has been stopped.
2. Check the alternator drive belt.
K20A:
Make sure the tension indicator (A) is within the standard range (B).

If the indicator is not within the standard range, replace the belt.
D15B, D17A:
To check the deflection, apply a force of 98 N to the belt at the location shown by the arrow in the figure.
Sag:
- new belt - 5.0 - 6.5 mm
- used belt - 8.5 - 11.0 mm

Note: Instead of checking the drive belt deflection, you can check the belt tension.
Effort:
Models with air conditioning:
- new belt - 830 - 980 N
- used belt - 390 - 540 N

Note:
- The term "used belt" refers to a belt that has been in service for more than 5 minutes.
- After installing the belt, check that it is seated correctly on the pulleys. Check with your hand at the bottom of the pulleys to see if there is a loose groove on the pulley.
- After installing the belt, start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes, then check the belt tension again.
3. Check the power steering pump drive belt.
To check the deflection, apply a force of 98 N to the belt at the location shown by the arrow in the figure.
Sag:
- new belt - 9.0 -11.0 mm
- used belt - 13.0 -16.5 mm

Note: Instead of checking the drive belt deflection, you can check the belt tension.
Effort:
- new belt - 740 - 880 N
- used belt - 390 - 540 N

4. If the belt deflection does not correspond to the specified values, adjust it.
Generator drive belt (D15B, D17A)
a) Loosen the lock bolt (A) and mounting bolt (B).
b) Adjust the belt tension with the adjusting bolt (C).
c) Check the deflection of the accessory drive belt and tighten the bolts as shown above.
Power steering pump drive belt
a) Loosen the lock nut (B) and the fastening nut (A).
b) Adjust the belt tension with the adjusting bolt (C).
c) Check the deflection of the drive belt of the attachments and tighten the nuts.
