Note: When installing a new belt, first adjust the sag or tension to the new belt value, then adjust the sag or tension to the used belt value by starting the engine and letting it run for 5 minutes.


Sag:
  • Used belt: 8.0-10.5 mm
  • New belt: 6.0-8.5mm

Note: If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it.

Method of measuring belt tension using a dynamometer



Attach the dynamometer to the belt and measure the tension. Follow the dynamometer manufacturer's instructions.

Tension:
  • Used belt: 340-490 N (35-50 kgf)
  • New belt: 540-740 N(55-75 kgf)

Note: If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it.

If adjustment is required:



1. Loosen the mounting nut and lock nut.

2. Move the generator and adjust the belt tension to the required value, then tighten the nuts.
