Examination
1. At the time of the start of the test, the engine must be in a cold state. Disconnect the air supply hose from the throttle body (see chapter Power and exhaust systems).
2. Run the engine to idle. Insert your finger into the throttle body and press it against the fitting connected to the FIT valve (see accompanying illustration). You should feel a vacuum.
3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature and recheck. This time there should be no vacuum. The presence of voltage means that the valve is not completely closed, which may be caused by a low level of coolant or the presence of air pockets in the cooling system path - check, make the necessary adjustments.
4. If fluid level is normal and air is completely bled from system, replace FIT valve.
Replacement
Attention! Wait until the engine has completely cooled down before proceeding with the procedure.
1. Disconnect the hose from the valve, then unscrew the fixing bolts (see illustration above). remove the valve together with sealing rings. Seal the open end of the hose immediately to minimize coolant loss.
2. Install the valve in its original place (don't forget to replace the o-rings), screw in the fixing bolts and tighten them to the required torque. Replace the hose clamp if necessary.
8 Check coolant level, correct if necessary (see chapter Current service).
