Checking the idle speed on a cold engine (Honda Fit 1)

When using a tachometer:

1. Disconnect the connector and rubber cover from the crankshaft speed sensor and connect the tachometer.

A - tachometer,

A - tachometer,
B - connector,
C - cover.


2. Check the engine speed on a cold engine (coolant temperature about 20°C) 10 seconds after starting.
  • Cold engine speed (selector in position "P" or "N") - 1500±200 rpm

When using a Honda or other scanner:

1. Connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector.

A - diagnostic connector,

A - diagnostic connector,
B - scanner.


2. Check the rotation speed on a cold engine (coolant temperature about 20°C) 10 seconds after starting.
  • Cold engine speed (selector in position "P" or "N"): — 1500±200 rpm

If the speed is not as specified, replace the idle speed control valve and recheck.
