Warning! See warnings at the beginning Relieving pressure in the fuel system.
1. Remove the rear seat (see Chapter Body).

2a. If equipped, remove the fuel tank access cover protective strip (see accompanying illustration).

2b. Remove the access cover from the vehicle floor panel (see accompanying illustration).

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the fuel flow sensor unit (see accompanying illustration).

4. If the sensor is secured with a retaining ring, use a punch to release the latter (see accompanying illustration). The ring must be turned so that its tongues align with the recesses in the body.
Caution: To prevent the risk of sparking, use only copper tools.
5. Remove the sensor assembly from the fuel tank (see accompanying illustration). Try not to bend the float lever.

6. Connect the ohmmeter to the terminals of the electrical connector (see accompanying illustration) and measure the electrical resistance of the sensor. The measurement should be made at three float positions corresponding to different degrees of filling of the tank (empty, half full and full). Compare results with requirements Specifications.

7. If the measurement results noticeably deviate from the norm, replace the sensor.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to replace the sealing gasket of the fuel tank access cover.
