Attention! See the warnings at the beginning Depressurizing the supply system.
1. Remove the back seat (see chapter Body).
2a. If equipped, remove the protective strip of the gas tank access cover (see accompanying illustration).
2b. Remove the access cover from the car floor panel (see accompanying illustration).
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the fuel flow sensor block (see accompanying illustration).
4. If the sensor is attached with a retaining ring, use a punch to release the latter (see accompanying illustration). The ring must be turned in such a way that its tongues are aligned with the recesses in the body.
Attention! To prevent the risk of sparking, use only copper tools.
5. Remove the sensor assembly from the fuel tank (see accompanying illustration). Try not to bend the float arm.
6. Connect an ohmmeter to the wiring connector terminals (see accompanying illustration) and measure the electrical resistance of the sensor. The measurement should be made at three positions of the float, corresponding to different degrees of filling the tank (empty, half full and full). Compare results with requirements Specifications.
7. At noticeable deviations of results of measurement from norm replace the gauge.
8. Install in reverse order. Do not forget to replace the fuel tank access cover gasket.
