Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!

2. Loosen the lock nut and release the accelerator cable from the bracket (see accompanying illustration).

3. Turn the throttle crank and remove the cable end from its slot in the lever (see accompanying illustration).

4. Under the instrument panel in the driver's footwell, disconnect the accelerator cable from the gas pedal (see accompanying illustration).
5. Release the rubber grommet from the engine compartment bulkhead, then pull the cable assembly into the vehicle interior.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the cable bushing is correctly seated in the engine compartment bulkhead. Select the slack in the cable, then proceed to adjust it.
Adjustment
1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature, then let it idle.

2. Estimate the amount of deflection (lateral play) cable between the throttle crank and bracket (see accompanying illustration). The clearance should be within the range of 9.5÷12.7 mm, otherwise loosen the lock nut and make the appropriate adjustment. Tighten the lock nut again and stop the engine.
3. With the help of an assistant, make sure that the throttle valve opens and closes completely. Check the freedom of movement of the cable.
4. On AT equipped models, adjust the kick-down throttle control rod (TV cable) (see section 4-speed and continuously variable automatic transmissions (AT and CVT)).
