Examination
Attention: Do not smoke during the test. Keep open flames away from your work area.
1. Attach the special tool to the service port on the fuel filter.
The pressure should be:
- engine D15Z6, D15Z7: 226-175 kPa (2.3-2.8 kgf/cm2)
- engine D16Y7, D16Y6, D16Y5, D16Y8: 265-314 kPa (2.7-3.2 kgf/cm2)
- engine V16A2, V16A4, V16A6, V16A6: 275-324 kPa (2.8-3.3 kgf/cm2)
(with the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnected and pinched)
2. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
3. Check that fuel pressure rises when the vacuum hose is re-disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator.
If fuel pressure does not increase, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
Replacement
Warning: Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Keep open flames away from your work area.
1. Place a paper towel under the fuel pressure regulator, then release the fuel pressure.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose and fuel return hose.
