Examination
Do not smoke while performing this procedure. Keep open flames away from your work area.
1. Connect the tachometer.
2. Start the engine. Run it at 3000 rpm without load (A/T in [N] or [P], M/T in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then run it at idle speed.
3. Check idle speed and adjust if necessary,
4. Warm up and calibrate the CO meter according to the meter manufacturer's instructions.
5. Check the CO at idle speed with the headlights, heater fan, rear window defogger, cooling fan and air conditioner off*
CO concentration,%:
- For cars with a neutralizer: 0.1%
- For cars without a neutralizer: 1.0±1.0%
If these readings are not obtained:
On vehicles without a neutralizer, adjust the mixture quality by turning the idle mixture ratio (IMA) adjustment screw.
If the specified CO readings are not achieved by performing this procedure, check the engine tuning status.
