1. Install the crankshaft timing belt so that the No. 1 cylinder piston is at TDC. Align the mark on the crankshaft timing belt with the mark on the oil pump housing.
2. Install the camshaft pulleys so that the piston of cylinder No. 1 is at TDC.
Align the TDC marks on the intake and exhaust camshaft pulleys.
3. Install the timing belt in the strictly specified order.
- (1) Crankshaft toothed pulley.
- (2) Tension pulley.
- (3) Water pump pulley.
- (4) Intake camshaft drive pulley.
- (5) Exhaust camshaft drive pulley.
Note: Make sure all marks are aligned correctly.
4. Loosen and retighten the adjusting bolt to maintain tension on the timing belt.
5. Install the bottom cover and middle cover.
Note: Before installation, clean the top and middle covers.
6. Install the crankshaft pulley, then tighten the pulley bolt
7. Turn the crankshaft pulley approximately five or six turns counterclockwise so that the timing belt is seated on the pulleys.
