Timing Belt — Check (Honda HR-V 1)

1. Disconnect the breather hose, then remove the air cleaner housing.

2. Remove the cylinder head cover.

When installing the cylinder head cover, see item. "Installation".

3. Remove the top cover.

4. Check the timing belt for cracks or soaked with oil or coolant (picture on the right).

Note:

Replace the belt if it is soaked with oil or coolant.

Remove any oil or solvent that gets on the belt.

5. After checking, loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt, then tighten it again to a torque of 20 Nm (2.0 kgf/m) and turn it by 90°.
