Rocker arms — removal (Honda Civic 5)

1. Secure the rocker arms with a rubber band to prevent them from separating.



Remove the exhaust and exhaust rocker arm oil control hole, then remove the VTEC solenoid valve and seal bolts.

Note: The design of the oil adjustment hole for the exhaust and exhaust rocker arms is different. Identify the parts for subsequent assembly.

Install 12mm bolts into the rocker arm shafts. Remove each rocker arm by slowly rotating the intake and exhaust rocker arm shafts while applying force in the axial direction as shown in the figure.
