Note. Visual indicators and instrument panel indicators provide important information about the condition of the vehicle.
Engine system malfunction indicator
A description of the operation of the malfunction indicator for gasoline and diesel engine systems is given in the section «Multifunction display».
Only for vehicles with diesel engine
This warning lamp may also turn on when the engine is restarted after it has stopped due to lack of fuel.
Seat belt indicator
The signaling device turns on at turn of a key in the ignition lock in position «ON» (II). It reminds the driver and passengers to wear seat belts. If the belt is not fastened, then simultaneously with the light signaling device, the sound signal turns on.
If you turn the ignition key to position «ON» (II) before fastening the seat belts, the indicator will flash and an audible signal will be heard. If you do not fasten your seat belts before the audible signal stops, the indicator will stop flashing, but will remain lit.
If the front passenger is not wearing a seat belt, the warning light comes on for 6 seconds after the ignition is switched on.
If the driver and front passenger are not wearing their seat belts while the vehicle is in motion, the visual indicator will flash intermittently and an audible signal will sound.
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT» («Fasten your seat belt»). If the passenger's seat belt is not fastened, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «FASTEN YOUR PASSENGER’S SEAT BELT» («Ask the passenger to fasten their seat belt»).
The seat belt system constantly monitors the condition of the seat belts of all rear passengers, according to signals from sensors built into the belt buckles. The output of information on the display is accompanied by a sound signal.
Engine oil pressure drop indicator
If the indicator flashes or stays on while the engine is running, the engine may be seriously damaged and fail. For more information about the low oil pressure indicator, see chapter «Multifunction display».
Additionally, a symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «OIL PRESSURE LOW» («Low oil pressure»).
Electrical fault signaling device (battery discharge)
Turning on the indicator when the engine is running indicates that the battery is in discharge mode. For more information about this signaling device, see chapter «Multifunction display».
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Glow plug indicator (for diesel vehicles)
The indicator comes on for a few seconds when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» (II). It reminds that the engine preheating system is working. Wait for the indicator to turn off before starting the engine.
This indicator simultaneously performs the function of a malfunction indicator. If it flashes while the engine is running, the engine may be faulty. It is also possible that the oil level sensor is faulty. In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»). This indicator may also turn on when the engine is restarted after it has stopped due to lack of fuel.
The following two symptoms indicate problems with the coolant temperature sensor used by the fuel system.
In cold weather, the indicator turns on for too short a time, not enough for the engine to warm up with a glow plug.
The engine starts with difficulty.
Parking brake indicator / brake warning light
The indicator turns on when the ignition key is turned to the position «ON» (II). The purpose of the indicator is to remind the driver that the parking brake is not released. When you try to start moving with the parking brake not fully released, a buzzer sounds. Driving with the parking brake on causes the brakes to overheat and fail, as well as rapid tire wear.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «RELEASE PARKING BRAKE» («Release the parking brake»).
If the indicator/warning light stays on after the parking brake is fully released while the engine is running, or if it comes on while the vehicle is moving, this may indicate a problem with the brake system.
In addition, the symbol appears on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Anti-theft alarm (immobilizer)
The indicator should turn on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on (ignition key turned to position «ON» (II)). If the ignition key code matches the immobilizer code, the indicator will turn off. Otherwise (when a key with the wrong code is inserted into the ignition lock) indicator starts flashing. In this case, the immobilizer blocks the engine start.
Anti-lock brake system malfunction indicator (ABS)
The indicator should come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» (II). Turning on the warning lamp under any other conditions indicates a malfunction of the vehicle's anti-lock braking system. In this case, it is necessary to contact the dealer's service station for ABS diagnostics and repair. When the ABS malfunction indicator is on, the vehicle's service brake system remains fully functional, but the anti-lock braking system will not work.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Information message indicator
The indicator turns on when a message is displayed on the multi-information display. To read the message, click on the button ««INFO» («Information»), located on the steering wheel.
As a rule, this indicator turns on at the same time as some other warning lamp or indicator, for example, a seat belt warning lamp, an airbag warning lamp, dynamic stabilization systems, etc.
Additional security system malfunction indicator
The signaling device briefly turns on when the ignition key is turned to position «ON» (II). The illumination of the indicator in all other cases indicates a malfunction of the frontal airbags or automatic seat belt tensioners. This warning lamp also illuminates when the side and window airbags or automatic seat belt tensioners are malfunctioning.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Signaling device of malfunction of the electric drive amplifier of a steering (EPS)
The indicator turns on when the ignition key is turned to position «ON» (II) and goes out after starting the engine. The glow of the indicator in all other cases indicates a malfunction of the electric power steering system. In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
In this case, you need to stop the car in a safe place as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Try to reset the fault detection system by restarting the engine. Since the indicator does not go out immediately after starting the engine, you must drive several kilometers while observing the condition of the indicator. If it does not go out or goes out, but lights up again, then contact a service center to diagnose the power steering system. Keep in mind that when the warning light is on, the power steering is not working and, therefore, it is harder to turn the steering wheel.
If you turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right several times while the vehicle is stationary or very slow, you may feel an increase in steering force. This is to prevent overheating of the steering gear and is not a malfunction.
Rear fog light indicator
The indicator turns on at the same time as the rear fog lamp is turned on. For a description of how the central light switch and headlight switch function, see chapter «Multifunction display».
Front fog lamp indicator (for some vehicle variants)
The indicator lights up at the same time as the front fog lamps are turned on. For a description of how the central light switch and headlight switch function, see chapter «Multifunction display».
Cruise control indicator (for some vehicle variants)
The indicator lights up when turned on with the button «CRUISE» cruise control systems.
Cruise control active indicator (for some vehicle variants)
The indicator lights up when the vehicle speed is automatically controlled by the cruise control system.
Signaling device of the dynamic stabilization system (VSA) (for some vehicle variants)
The indicator should come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» (II).
Switching on the signaling device «VSA» under any other conditions, indicates a malfunction of the vehicle's dynamic stabilization system. In this case, it is necessary to contact the dealer's service station for diagnostics and repair of the system. When the alarm is on «VSA» the vehicle can continue to move, but the additional functions of the traction control system and vehicle stability control will not be performed. In addition, the symbol appears on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Dynamic stability indicator (VSA) (for some vehicle variants)
The VSA indicator performs three functions.
1. A non-flickering indicator light reminds the driver that he has disabled the dynamic stabilization system (VSA).
2. A flashing indicator indicates the active state of the dynamic stabilization system.
3. If there is a malfunction in the dynamic stabilization system, the VSA indicator turns on simultaneously with the VSA indicator. In addition, the symbol appears on the multifunction display (VSA), which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Turn indicators and hazard warning lights
Visual indicators of indicators of the left and right turn (in the form of arrows) turn on when a turn signal or lane change is given. If the indicators do not flash or flash at an increased frequency, this usually indicates a burnt out lamp in one of the direction indicator lights. Replace a burnt out bulb as soon as possible.
The alarm system provides for the simultaneous activation of all direction indicator lights and left and right indicator indicators located on the dashboard.
To improve the convenience of signaling a lane change, the car is equipped with a function that the direction indicators flash three times after one short press on the light switch lever.
High beam indicator
The indicator lights up at the same time as the high beam headlights are switched on. A description of the functioning of the central light switch and headlight switch is given in the section «Governing bodies».
In addition, in the event of a malfunction of the automatic headlight control system, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «CHECK SYSTEM» («Check the system»).
Light on indicator
The indicator reminds the driver that the outdoor lights are on. The indicator lights up when the or light switch is in position. If, with the exterior lighting on, the driver turns the ignition key to the ««ACCESSORY» «(I) or «LOCK» (0), the indicator will remain lit. If at the same time the key is not removed from the ignition lock, then when the driver's door is opened, the buzzer will sound.
In addition, the symbol appears on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning «HEAD LIGHTS» «ON» («Headlights are not off»).
For vehicles equipped with automatic headlight control The light on indicator also comes on when the headlights are turned on automatically when the light switch is set to «AUTO» («Auto mode»).
