Note: Visual indicators and warning lights on the instrument panel provide important information about the vehicle's condition.
Engine system malfunction indicator
A description of the operation of the malfunction indicator for petrol and diesel engines is given in the section "Multifunctional display".
For diesel vehicles only
This indicator may also come on when the engine is restarted after it has stopped due to lack of fuel.
Non-attached seat belt warning light
The indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position. It reminds the driver and passengers that their seat belts must be fastened. If the belt is not fastened, the sound signal comes on simultaneously with the light indicator.
If you turn the ignition key to the "ON" (II) position before fastening your seat belts, the indicator will flash and a chime will sound. If you do not fasten your seat belts before the chime stops, the indicator will stop flashing but will continue to light.
If the front passenger is not fastened with a seat belt, the indicator lights up for 6 seconds after the ignition is turned on.
If the driver and front passenger are not wearing seat belts while the vehicle is moving, the visual indicator will flash periodically and an audible signal will sound.
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
The seat belt system constantly monitors the condition of the seat belts of all rear passengers, according to signals from sensors mounted in the belt buckles. The information is displayed on the display accompanied by an audible signal.
Engine oil pressure drop alarm
If the indicator flashes or lights continuously while the engine is running, the engine may be seriously damaged and may fail. For more information on the oil pressure indicator, refer to the chapter "Multi-function display".
Additionally, a symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning "OIL PRESSURE LOW" ("Low oil pressure").
Electrical system fault indicator (battery discharge)
When the indicator comes on while the engine is running, it means that the battery is in discharge mode. More detailed information about this indicator is provided in the chapter "Multifunctional display".
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
Glow plug indicator (for cars with diesel engine)
The indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition key to the "ON" (II) position. It reminds you that the engine preheating system is working. Wait until the indicator goes out before starting the engine.
This indicator also functions as a malfunction indicator. If it flashes while the engine is running, the engine may be faulty. It is also possible that the oil level sensor is faulty. In addition, the multifunction display displays the symbol
The following two symptoms indicate problems with the coolant temperature sensor, which is used by the fuel system.
In cold weather, the indicator comes on for too short a time, not enough for the glow plug to warm up the engine.
The engine starts with difficulty.
Parking brake indicator/brake malfunction indicator
The indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position. The purpose of the indicator is to remind the driver that the parking brake is not released. When attempting to start moving with the parking brake not fully released, a buzzer sounds. Moving the car with the parking brake on leads to overheating and failure of the brake mechanisms, as well as rapid wear of the tires.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
If the indicator/warning light remains on after the parking brake has been fully released, or comes on while the vehicle is moving, while the engine is running, this may indicate a malfunction in the brake system.
In addition, a symbol is displayed on the multifunction display, which may be accompanied by a warning "CHECK SYSTEM" ("Check the system").
Anti-theft alarm system (immobilizer)
The indicator should turn on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on (the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position). If the ignition key code matches the immobilizer code, the indicator will go out. Otherwise (when a key with an incorrect code is inserted into the ignition switch) the indicator starts to flash. At the same time, the immobilizer blocks the engine from starting.
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Malfunction Indicator
The indicator should come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position. If the indicator comes on under any other conditions, it indicates a malfunction of the vehicle's anti-lock braking system. In this case, you should contact your dealer's service station for diagnostics and repair of the ABS. When the ABS malfunction indicator is on, the vehicle's service brake system remains fully functional, but the anti-lock braking system will not work.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
Information message indicator
The indicator comes on when a message is displayed on the multi-information display. To view the message, press the "INFO" button located on the steering wheel.
Typically, this indicator comes on simultaneously with some other indicator or warning light, such as a seat belt warning light, airbag warning light, dynamic stabilization system warning light, etc.
Additional security system malfunction indicator
The indicator comes on briefly when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position. In all other cases, the indicator lights up to indicate a malfunction of the front airbags or automatic seat belt tensioners. This indicator also lights up to indicate a malfunction of the side and window airbags or automatic seat belt tensioners.
In addition, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
Electric Power Steering (EPS) Malfunction Indicator
The indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position and goes out after the engine starts. In all other cases, the indicator lights up to indicate a malfunction of the electric power steering system. In addition, the multifunction display shows the symbol
In this case, you need to stop the car in a safe place as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Try to restore the initial state of the fault detection system, for which you should start the engine again. Since the indicator does not go out immediately after starting the engine, you should drive a few kilometers, observing the state of the indicator. If it does not go out or goes out but lights up again, then contact the service center for diagnostics of the power steering system. Keep in mind that when the indicator is illuminated, the power steering does not work and, therefore, it is more difficult to turn the steering wheel.
If you turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and left several times when the car is stationary or moving very slowly, you may feel an increase in the effort on the steering wheel. This is necessary to prevent the steering mechanism from overheating and is not a malfunction.
Rear fog light indicator
The indicator comes on simultaneously with the rear fog light. The operation of the central light switch and headlight switch is described in the chapter "Multifunction display".
Front fog light indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The indicator lights up simultaneously with the front fog lights. The operation of the central light switch and the headlight switch is described in the chapter "Multifunction display".
Cruise control system on indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The indicator lights up when the cruise control system is turned on using the "CRUISE" button.
Cruise control system active status indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The indicator lights up when the cruise control system automatically regulates the vehicle speed.
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The indicator should come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" (II) position.
If the VSA indicator comes on under any other conditions, it indicates a malfunction of the vehicle's dynamic stabilization system. In this case, you should contact your dealer's service station for diagnostics and repair of the system. When the VSA indicator comes on, the vehicle can continue to move, but additional functions of the traction control system and the vehicle's stability control system will not be performed. In addition, the multifunction display shows the symbol, which may be accompanied by a warning "CHECK SYSTEM" ("Check the system").
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The VSA indicator performs three functions.
1. A non-flashing indicator reminds the driver that he has switched off the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system.
2. The flashing indicator indicates that the dynamic stabilization system is active.
3. If there is a malfunction in the dynamic stability control system, the VSA indicator lights up simultaneously with the VSA warning light. In addition, the (VSA) symbol is displayed on the multi-function display, which may be accompanied by a warning "CHECK SYSTEM" ("Check the system").
Direction indicator and hazard warning lights indicators
Visual indicators for left and right turn signals (in the form of arrows) turn on when you signal a turn or change lanes. If the indicators do not flash or flash at an increased rate, this usually indicates a burnt-out bulb in one of the turn signal lights. Replace the burnt-out bulb as soon as possible.
The hazard warning system provides for the simultaneous switching on of all turn signal lights and left and right turn signal indicators located on the instrument panel.
To make lane change signaling more convenient, the vehicle is equipped with a function that flashes the turn signals three times after one short press of the light switch lever.
High beam indicator
The indicator lights up simultaneously with the high beam headlights. The operation of the central light switch and the headlight switch is described in the "Controls" section.
In addition, if the automatic headlight control system malfunctions, the symbol is displayed on the multifunction display
