Parking brake (Honda Civic 8)

To engage the parking brake, fully lift the lever located between the front seats. To release the parking brake, do the following: lift the lever slightly upward and press the locking button located on the end of the handle, then lower the lever down. When the parking brake is released, the indicator located on the instrument panel should go out.

Warning! Driving the car with the parking brake on will cause the brakes and rear wheel hub bearings to fail. A buzzer will sound to warn the driver of an attempt to drive the car with the parking brake on.

In addition, a warning is displayed on the multi-information display in the form of a pictogram, which may be accompanied by text "RELEASE PARKING BRAKE" ("Turn off the parking brake").
