Instrument cluster (CR-V models) — removal and installation (Honda CR-V 1)

1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Disable the SRS air safety system (see Ch. 6).

3. Remove the following parts and panels:
  • glove box,
  • the lower section of the instrument panel on the driver's side,
  • driver's side knee pad,
  • lower trim of the central section (on a car with automatic transmission),
  • drink holder in the center of the dashboard (on a car with automatic transmission),
  • central floor section (cars with manual transmission),
  • lower cover of the central part of the instrument panel,
  • driver side switch panel.

4. Remove the instrument panel (see Ch. 6).

5. Disconnect the driver's side airbag connector and lower the steering column.

6. Remove the instrument panel cover from the driver's side from the latches. Remove the screw in the lower cover on the passenger side and remove the cover from the latches.

7. Disconnect the connectors at the top left of the relay and fuse box under the instrument panel. Remove the fasteners and move the fuse box to the side.

8. Disconnect the antenna wire, remove the wiring fastening brackets.

9. Remove the connector holder from the instrument panel frame.

10. Remove the relay/processor unit bracket from the inside of the instrument panel.

11. Unscrew the 7 instrument panel mounting bolts:
  • 1 bolt on the left side of the panel,
  • 2 bolts on the left bottom side of the panel,
  • 2 bolts on the left and right side of the center panel,
  • 2 bolts on the right side of the instrument panel in the glove box opening.

12. Carefully lift and remove the panel, making sure all connectors, brackets and clips (latches) are removed.

13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
