Removal and installation



Note: When removing parts, refer to the figure "Removing and installing the brake master cylinder".


1. Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.

2. Pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir.

3. Disconnect the low brake fluid level sensor connector.

4. Disconnect the brake fluid pipes and install plugs on them.

Tightening torque - 15 Nm

5. Loosen the nuts and remove the master cylinder from the brake booster.

Tightening torque - 15 Nm

6. Remove the oil seal.

Note:

- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

- When installing:
  • position the seal so that the grooved side faces the master cylinder and the flat side faces the brake booster;
  • apply grease to the seal;
  • adjust the master cylinder piston clearance.

- After installation:
  • pour brake fluid into the reservoir and bleed the brake system;
  • check and, if necessary, adjust the height and free travel of the brake pedal.

7. Remove the filter and connecting bushings from the brake fluid reservoir.

Note: Whenever the reservoir is disconnected from the master cylinder, the connecting bushings must be replaced with new ones.

Removal and installation the master brake cylinder. 1 - master brake cylinder, 2 - brake booster, 3 - oil seal (models with double vacuum booster), 4 - oil seal (models with single vacuum booster), 5 - low brake fluid level sensor, 6 - spring washer, 7 - nut.


Assembly



1. Install the seal on the brake fluid reservoir cap.

2. Install the filter and connecting bushings onto the brake fluid reservoir.

3. Lubricate the piston No.1 seals with brake fluid and install piston No.1 into the master brake cylinder.

Note: Before installation, make sure the valve moves smoothly and without sticking.

4. Lubricate the seals of piston No.2 with brake fluid and install piston No.2 into the master brake cylinder.

5. Apply grease to:
  • (Models with dual brake booster) piston surface no.2;
  • (Models with single brake booster) piston cuff No.2.

7. Install pistons #1 and #2 and piston guide (dual amp models).

8. (Models with ABS) By pressing on piston No.2, align the hole in the piston with the hole in the locking pin and install the locking pin.

9. Install the brake fluid reservoir onto the master cylinder.

10. Press down on piston No.2 and, while holding it, install the retaining ring.

11. Adjust the clearance of the master brake cylinder piston rod (see the subsection "Adjusting the piston rod clearance" of the section "Vacuum brake booster").

12. Apply grease to the seal and install it.
