Attention! Before proceeding with the procedures, wait until the engine has cooled down completely!

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the system before disconnecting the battery!

2. Remove the air hose connecting the air cleaner to the throttle body.

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the throttle position sensor (TPS) and absolute pressure (MAP) sensors at the throttle body. Label and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle body.

4. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle lever (see Removal, installation and adjusting the accelerator cable) and the throttle cable in kick-down mode (models with AT - see. 4-speed and continuously variable automatic transmissions (AT and CVT)).

5. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body. Immediately plug the open ends of the hoses to minimize coolant loss.

5. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle…

6a. Loosen the throttle body fasteners (4 nuts [1994 Integra models] or two nuts and two bolts [other models]) (see accompanying illustrations). Separate the throttle body from the intake manifold and remove the sealing gasket. Carefully scrape off traces of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the throttle body and the air duct plenum.

6a. Loosen the throttle body fasteners (4 nuts…

6b. Fastening of the throttle body of the downward-flow design.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to replace the sealing gasket. Tighten the throttle body fasteners to the required force. Finally, adjust the accelerator cable (see Removal, installation and adjusting the accelerator cable) and the throttle actuator in kick-down mode (see 4-speed and continuously variable automatic transmissions (AT and CVT)). Check the coolant level and make adjustments if necessary.
