Warning: To avoid damage to the cylinder head, wait until the coolant temperature drops below 38°C before loosening the bolts.
Attention:
- Mark all electrical wiring and hoses before disassembly to avoid incorrect connections during reassembly. Also make sure they do not come into contact with other electrical wiring or hoses.
- Check the timing belt before removing the cylinder head.
- Turn the crankshaft pulley so that the piston of the first cylinder is at TDC.
1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery,
2. Drain the coolant. During this operation, it is recommended to remove the radiator cap to speed up the drainage of the fluid.
3. Remove the intake air duct and air filter housing.
4. Remove the mounting bolt and retaining bolt, then remove the power steering pump drive belt and pump.
5. Loosen the tensioner pulley center nut and adjusting bolt, then remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt.
6. Loosen the fastening nut and lock bolt, then remove the generator drive belt.
7. Remove the power steering pump bracket.
8. Loosen the locknut, remove the throttle cable and throttle control cable, then pull the end of the cable from the sector,
Attention:
- Do not bend the cable when removing.
- Adjust the throttle cable when installing.
- Adjust the throttle cable when installing.
For engines D14A3, D15Z4, D15Z5, D16Y7:
9. Relieve the fuel pressure, loosen the service bolt on the fuel filter approximately one turn,
Warning: Do not smoke when working on the fuel system. Keep open flames away from the work area. Drain the fuel into a suitable container.
10. Remove the fuel vapor removal system hose from the intake manifold, the fuel supply hose and the crankcase ventilation system hose.
For engines D14A3, D14A4, D15Z4, D15Z5, D16Y7:
In addition to engines D14A3, D14A4, D15Z4, D15Z5, D16Y7:
11. Remove the brake booster vacuum hose, fuel return hose and vacuum hose,
12. Remove the coolant bypass hose.
