1. Install the crankshaft timing belt so that the piston of cylinder No. 1 is at top dead center. Align the groove on the crankshaft timing belt with the indicator on the oil pump.
2. Install the camshaft pulley so that the No. 1 piston is at top dead center. Align the TDC marks on the camshaft pulley with the marks on the rear cover.
Install the timing belt strictly in the specified order.
- (1) Crankshaft toothed pulley;
- (2) Tensioner roller;
- (3) Water pump pulley;
- (4) Camshaft pulley.
Note: Accurate alignment of the crankshaft sprocket and camshaft pulley is ensured by matching the TDC marks.
4. Loosen and tighten the adjusting bolt again to adjust the timing belt tension.
5. Install the bottom cover and top cover.
Note: Before installation, clean the top and bottom covers.
6. Install the crankshaft pulley, then tighten the pulley bolt.
7. Turn the crankshaft pulley approximately five or six turns counterclockwise so that the timing belt is seated on the pulleys.
8. Adjust the tension of the timing belt.
9. Check that the crankshaft pulley and camshaft pulley are correctly aligned with the TDC marks.
10. If the camshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley are not aligned with the TDC marks, remove the timing belt and adjust the position in the same order as above, then reinstall the timing belt.
11. After installation, adjust the tension: generator drive belt, air conditioning compressor drive belt, power steering pump drive belt.
