Attention:
- Turn the crankshaft pulley so that the piston of the first cylinder is at TDC before removing the belt.
- Check the water pump before installing the timing belt.
1. Remove the mudguard.
2. Loosen the mounting bolt and retaining bolt, then remove the power steering pump belt and pump.
3. Loosen the tensioner pulley center nut and adjusting bolt, then remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt.
4. Loosen the fastening nut and lock bolt, then remove the generator drive belt.
5. Remove the dipstick, then remove the tensioner pulley bracket and top cover.
6. Remove the top bracket.
Attention. Use a jack to support the engine before the top bracket is removed. Be sure to place a cushion between the oil pan and the jack.
7. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
8. Remove the dipstick tube and the lower bracket cover.
(Engines D15Z6, D15Z7, D16Y5, D1GY5) Remove the crankshaft speed sensor from the oil pump.
10. Unscrew the adjusting bolt 180°. Move the belt tensioner to release the tension on the timing belt, then retighten the adjusting bolt.
11. Remove the timing belt.
