Replacement
Attention:
- Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.
- Avoid open flames in the workplace.
- When replacing the fuel filter, be careful to keep it away from the battery terminals and other tools.
The fuel filter must be replaced if the fuel pressure drops below the set value.
- Engines D14A3, D14A4, D15Z4, D15Z5: 226-275 kPa (2.3-2.8 kg/cm²).
- Engines D16Y4, D16Y9: 275-324 kPa (2.7-3.2 kg/cm²).
With the vacuum hose disconnected and clamped and after the fuel pump and check valve have been checked for proper operation,
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Place paper towels under and around the fuel filter.
3. Relieve the fuel pressure.
4. Unscrew the special bolt and remove the fuel pipes using a wrench as shown in the figure.
5. Remove the filter clamp and the filter itself.
6. When assembling, use new sealing washers as shown.
Note: Clean the connection areas of the pipes before assembly.
