Warning! Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Do not create sparks or open flames in the workplace. When replacing the fuel filter, keep a safe distance between the battery terminals and the tool.
The fuel filter should be changed when the fuel pressure drops below normal (260— 310 kPa (2.7-3.2 kgf/cm2) when the vacuum hose is disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator and it is pinched), making sure the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are OK.
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the negative battery terminal.
2. Lay a cloth under and around the fuel filter.
3. Relieve fuel pressure (see above).
4. Unscrew the 12mm plug and fuel supply pipe from the fuel filter, fixing it with another wrench, as shown in the figure.
5. Remove the fuel filter clamp and the filter itself.
6. Install a new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- When reassembling, install new washers as shown in the illustration.
- Thoroughly clean the sockets of the high pressure hoses before connecting.
