Fuel filter — replacement (Honda HR-V 1)

Warning! Do not smoke when working on the fuel system. Do not produce sparks or open flames in the work area. When replacing the fuel filter, maintain a safe distance between the battery terminals and the tool.


The fuel filter should be changed when the fuel pressure drops below the norm (260-310 kPa (2.7-3.2 kgf/cm²) with the vacuum hose disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator and pinched), after making sure that the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are in order.

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Place a cloth under and around the fuel filter.

3. Relieve the fuel pressure (see above).

4. Remove the 12mm plug and fuel supply pipe from the fuel filter, securing it with another wrench as shown in the figure.

5. Remove the fuel filter clamp and the filter itself.

6. Install the new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
  • When assembling, install new washers as shown in the figure.
  • Before connecting, thoroughly clean the sockets of the high pressure hoses.
