Adjustment
Deflection method
1. Apply a force of 98 N (10 kgf), and measure the belt deflection between the compressor and crankshaft pulleys.
Compressor belt A/C
Used belt, engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 6.0-9.5 mm
Except for engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 7.5-9.5 mm
New belt, engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 4.5-6.5 mm
Except for engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 5.0-6.5 mm
Note:
- If any damage to the belt is noticed, replace it.
- Used belt" - this is a belt that has worked for more than 5 minutes.
- New belt" - this is a belt that has worked for less than 5 minutes.
2. Loosen the axle bolt and locknut of the adjusting bolt (Nippondenso) or central nut (Sanden&Hadsys) tension roller.
3. Turn the adjusting bolt to obtain the appropriate belt tension.
4. Tighten the axle bolt and adjusting bolt locknut (Nippondenso) or central nut (Sanden&Hadsys) tension roller.
5. Recheck compressor belt deflection
Tension sensor method
1. Attach the special sensor to the compressor belt as shown below and measure the tension force.
Compressor belt A/C
Used belt, engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 390-540N (40 -55 kgf).
Except for engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 340-490N (35-50 kgf).
New belt, engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 740-880N (75-90 kgf).
Except for engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A6: 690-830N (70-85 kgf).
Note:
- Follow the boat manufacturer's instructions for measuring tension.
- If any damage to the belt is noticed, replace it.
- Used belt"- this is a belt that has worked for more than 5 minutes.
