2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Install piston No. 1 to top dead center (TDC).
4. Rock the No. 1 cylinder inlet A secondary rocker. The A secondary rocker should move independently of the B secondary rocker.
If the secondary rocker arm of inlet valve A moves freely, go to 5.
If the secondary rocker arm of intake valve A does not move, remove the secondary rocker assembly together and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arm move freely. If any of the rocker arms require replacement, replace the secondary rocker assembly and check their operation.
5. Repeat 4 with the remaining primary intake rocker arms, setting each respective piston to TDC. When all secondary rocker arms have been checked, go to 6.
6. Check that the pressure gauge at the compressor outlet of the service station shows an air pressure greater than 400 kPa.
7. Check valve clearances.
8. Install VTEC adapter A to test port, then connect valve tester B.
9. Loosen the valve on the regulator and apply the required air pressure.
Required air pressure: 290 kPa.
10. Apply the specified air pressure and rock No. 1 cylinder inlet secondary rocker arm A. Secondary rocker arms A and B should move together.
If the secondary rocker arm of intake valve A does not move, remove the secondary rocker assembly together and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arm move freely. If any of the rocker arms require replacement, replace the secondary rocker assembly and check their operation.
11. Remove the special tool.
12. Install the cylinder head cover.
