2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Set piston No.1 to the top dead center (TDC) position.
4. Rock the secondary rocker arm of the intake valve A of cylinder No.1. Secondary rocker arm A should move independently of secondary rocker arm B.
If secondary intake rocker arm A moves freely, go to 5.
If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arm assembly together and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arm move freely. If any of the rocker arms require replacement, replace the secondary rocker arm assembly and check their operation.

5. Repeat 4 with the remaining primary intake rocker arms, setting each appropriate arm to TDC. When all secondary rocker arms have been tested, proceed to 6.
6. Check that the pressure gauge at the compressor outlet of the service station shows an air pressure greater than 400 kPa.
7. Check the valve clearances.
8. Install VTEC adapter A to the inspection hole, then connect valve tester B.
9. Loosen the valve on the regulator and apply the required air pressure.
Required air pressure: 290 kPa.
10. Apply the specified air pressure and swing the secondary rocker arm A of the intake valve of cylinder No.1. Secondary rocker arms A and B should move together.
If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arm assembly together and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arm move freely. If any of the rocker arms require replacement, replace the secondary rocker arm assembly and check their operation.
