2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and make sure all rocker arms move freely.
If rocker arms #1 and #2 move together, remove them and check that the plungers in the rocker arms move freely. If necessary, replace the #1 and #2 rocker assemblies and recheck.
If rocker arms #1 and #2 move freely, go to step 4.
4. Verify that the pressure gauge used for testing can show a pressure greater than 400 kPa.
5. Check valve clearance (see chapter "Engine - Mechanical").
6. Remove set bolt #3 of rocker shaft and install VTEC air adapter with washer (thickness about 1.5mm).
A - adapter
B - stub
C - pressure regulator.
7. Turn out an adjusting bolt No. 5 of an axis of yokes and establish a cap
8. Connect the air regulator.
9. Loosen the valve on the regulator and apply pressurized air.
- Air pressure - 340 kPa
10. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise and check that all #1 and #2 rocker pairs move together.
If the #1 and #2 rocker arms move freely and independently, remove the #1 and #2 rocker assemblies and check that the plungers move freely. If necessary, replace #1 and #2 rocker assemblies and recheck.
11. Remove the special tools.
12. Apply fresh engine oil to the threads of the rocker shaft mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 29 Nm
13. Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
