Note. Cover the fenders to prevent damage to the paintwork.
To prevent damage, disconnect electrical connectors carefully by holding the connector by its housing.
To prevent damage to the cylinder head, wait until the coolant temperature is below 38°C before loosening the cylinder head bolts.
Label all wiring harnesses and hoses to avoid confusion during installation. Also make sure they don't touch other wires or hoses or touch other parts.
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the panel under the shield.
4. Remove the engine cover.
5. Remove the fuel hose.
6. Remove fuel return hose A and brake booster vacuum hose B.
7. Remove the heater hose.
8. Remove the intake manifold.
9. Remove the exhaust manifold.
10. Remove the engine wiring harness connectors and wiring harness clips from the cylinder head.
- Four fuel injector connectors.
- Four glow plugs.
- Socket of the sensor of 1 temperature of a cooling liquid (EATING).
- Camshaft position sensor connector (CMP).
- Turbocharger amplification solenoid valve connector.
- EGR solenoid valve connector (EGR).
11. Remove the EGR pipe.
12. Remove the fuel pump.
13. Remove the timing chain.
14. Remove the camshaft bearing cap bolts. To prevent damage to the camshafts, unscrew the fixing bolts one by one - sequentially, two turns at a time.
15. Remove the upper covers of the camshaft bearings and camshafts.
16. Remove the four bolts securing the lower cover of the camshaft bearings, then remove the lower cover of the camshaft bearings.
17. Remove the rocker/hydraulic pusher assembly.
18. Remove the two 6mm bolts A, then remove the cylinder head bolts. To avoid warping, loosen the bolts 1/3 turn each and repeat these steps until all bolts are loose.
19. Remove the cylinder head.
Note. Do not position the cylinder head towards the bottom of the engine block surface where the glow plugs and valves are located.
