If the coolant level drops below the mark «MIN» or lower, add coolant and bring its level to the upper mark «MAX». Check for signs of coolant leakage from the engine cooling system.
Use only Honda All Seas All Season Coolant «ON» Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2. This coolant is a mixture of equal proportions of antifreeze and water. Do not add undiluted antifreeze or plain water to the cooling system.
Unsuitable antifreeze can cause corrosive damage to numerous parts of the cooling system, which are made of aluminum alloy. Some brands of antifreeze found on the market, despite the claims of manufacturers about the neutrality of these products to aluminum, do not provide adequate anti-corrosion protection for aluminum parts.
Attention! It is dangerous to remove the expansion tank cap if the engine is still hot. This can cause severe burns from hot coolant splashes or steam.
For safety reasons, do not remove the expansion tank cap until the engine and radiator are cool.
Make sure the engine and radiator are cool.
Turn the expansion tank cap counterclockwise 1/8 turn. In this case, the pressure in the engine cooling system will decrease to atmospheric pressure.
Press down on the top of the cover and turn it additionally counterclockwise. Then remove the cap from the expansion tank.
The coolant level in the radiator must be level with the mark «MAX» on the wall of the tank. Add coolant to the radiator if necessary.
Add coolant slowly and carefully, being careful not to spill it. Wipe off spilled fluid immediately, as it can damage components in the engine compartment
Reinstall the expansion tank cap. Turn it clockwise until it stops.
Do not add any additional corrosion inhibitors or other additives to the coolant. These products may react with coolant or be aggressive to engine or radiator materials.
