To add oil to the engine, unscrew and remove the filler cap, which is located on the valve cover. Slowly add the required amount of engine oil to the engine, being careful not to spill it. Wipe off oil spills immediately, as they can damage equipment located in the engine compartment.
Replace the cover and tighten it securely. Warm up the engine, then turn it off. Wait about three minutes and check the engine oil level. Do not overfill the oil above the upper mark on the dipstick. This could damage the engine.
Recommended engine oil
Use synthetic engine oil that meets ACEA standards and the chart below. When using synthetic oil, follow the oil and filter change intervals given in the maintenance schedule.
It is highly recommended to use Honda engine oils or 0W-30 oil meeting the ACEA A1/B1 specification.
For correct determination of engine oil viscosity (according to SAE/ACEA standard), suitable for the vehicle, it is recommended to use the diagram below.
Note. The use of non-recommended engine oils can adversely affect the vehicle's fuel economy.
Additives
Honda car units do not require the use of any additional additives added to oil or working fluids. The use of various types of additives will not lead to a real improvement in the performance or durability of the engine and transmission, but will only increase the operating costs of maintaining the car.
