Draining and replacing the working fluid of a manual transmission must be performed at intervals specified in the vehicle maintenance schedule.
Use only Honda MTF transmission oil designed for manual transmissions. If this oil is not available, then SJ group oil can be used as a temporary replacement (according to API classification) with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40. However, it should be noted that motor oils do not contain the additives necessary for reliable operation of the transmission. Prolonged operation of the transmission with motor oil may lead to difficulties in shifting gears. Replace the temporary oil with oil recommended by Honda at the earliest opportunity.
