Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir monthly. The car has two tanks in which it is necessary to control the level of brake fluid:
- reservoir of the main brake cylinder;
- hydraulic clutch master cylinder reservoir.
The brake fluid in the hydraulic brake drive must be replaced at the intervals provided for by the vehicle maintenance regulations.
When topping up, use only Honda brand brake fluid or its equivalent, DOT3 or DOT4 type brake fluid. The brake fluid container used must be hermetically sealed. Please note that DOT5 type brake fluid is not suitable for the vehicle's brake system.
The brake fluid level must be between the marks «MIN» And «MAX», which are available on the translucent wall of the master brake cylinder reservoir. The drop in the brake fluid level to the mark «MIN» or below it may be due to a malfunction of the brake system. Contact a service station to check the tightness of the brake hydraulic drive and the condition of the brake pads.
The brake fluid reservoir is divided into two compartments. The capacity of the secondary compartment is behind the capacity of the primary compartment. Label «MAX» applied to the container of the primary compartment, and the label «MIN» - on the capacity of the secondary compartment.
Adding brake fluid to the clutch fluid reservoir
The fluid level must be between the marks «MIN» And «MAX», which are applied to the translucent wall of the clutch hydraulic reservoir. If the fluid level has dropped to the mark «MIN», add brake fluid to the reservoir and bring the level up to the mark «MAX». For topping up, the same working fluid is used as in the hydraulic brake drive.
A drop in the level of the working fluid in the tank may be the result of a violation of the tightness of the clutch hydraulic drive and fluid leakage. In this case, it is necessary to urgently contact a service station to check the condition of the components and parts of the clutch hydraulic drive.
