Description of the diagnostic system
The electronic control unit has a fail-safe system that can detect a malfunction in the system. When a malfunction is detected, the electronic control unit switches off the ABS system and the "ABS" indicator lights up on the instrument cluster.
Reading codes for faults
Reading codes with a scanner
1. With the ignition off, connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector.
2. Turn on the ignition and read the fault codes. For detailed information on the fault code reading procedure, see the operating instructions for the diagnostic tool.
3. After reading the codes and troubleshooting, delete the codes (see the subsection "Deleting trouble codes").
Reading codes using the "ABS" indicator
1. With the ignition off, connect the special tool to the diagnostic connector located under the instrument panel.

2. Short-circuit terminals "4" and "9" on the special device.
3. Turn on the ignition.
Caution: Do not press the brake pedal when the ignition is turned on. If you press the brake pedal when the ignition is turned on, the system will enter the fault code erasing mode.
4. After turning on the ignition, the ABS indicator will light for 2 seconds and go out for 3.6 seconds, after which it will start displaying fault codes.

5. Read the fault codes by the flashes of the "ABS" indicator.
Note:
- The fault code consists of two digits: the first digit is determined by a series of long flashes, and the second digit is determined by a series of short flashes.
- Error codes are displayed in ascending order of their numbers.
- After the last fault code is displayed, the display of codes starts from the beginning.
A - 2 sec, B - 3.6 sec, C - 1.3 sec, D - 0.3 sec, E - 3.6 sec.
6. Turn off the ignition and remove the jumper.
Location of ABS system components. 1 - mounting block in the engine compartment, 2 - mounting block in the passenger compartment, 3, 4 - rear wheel speed sensor, 5, 8 - front wheel speed sensor, 6 - pressure modulator and ABS control unit, 7 - diagnostic connector.
Clearing fault codes. A - 2 sec, B - 4 sec, C - no more than 3 sec, D - 5 sec, E - 0.3 sec.
Clearing fault codes
Removal codes using a scanner
1. With the ignition off, connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector.
2. Turn on the ignition and clear the fault codes. For detailed information on the procedure for clearing fault codes, refer to the operating instructions for the diagnostic tool.
Removal codes without using a scanner
1. With the ignition off, connect the special tool to the diagnostic connector located under the instrument panel.

2. Short-circuit terminals "4" and "9" on the special device.
3. Press and hold the brake pedal and turn on the ignition.
4. Release the brake pedal when the "ABS" indicator goes out.
5. Press the brake pedal when the "ABS" indicator lights up.
6. Release the brake pedal when the "ABS" indicator goes out.
7. After 5 seconds, the indicator should flash 2 times, which indicates that the fault codes have been erased.
