Checking the travel of the parking brake lever (sedan)
Pull the parking brake lever with a force of 196 N. Count the audible clicks.
Lever travel:
models with rear disc brakes - 7-8 clicks
models with rear drum brakes:
- 2WD - 6-7 clicks
- 4WD - 7-8 clicks

Adjust the parking brake lever travel if necessary.
Adjustment (sedan)
1. Place wheel chocks under the front wheels.
2. Jack up and place the rear of the vehicle on stands.
3. (Models with rear disc brakes) Make sure the parking brake lever contacts the pin.

4. Remove the center console (see chapter "Body").
5. Pull the parking brake lever one click.
6. Turn the adjusting nut until the rear wheels begin to slow down when turning.

Removal and installation parking brake cables (sedan). 1 - bolt, 2 - parking brake lever, 3 - regulator, 4 - adjusting nut, 5 - cable bracket, 6 - retainer, 7 - parking brake cable, 8 - protective cover, 9 - parking brake cable, 10 - sealing sleeve, 11 - parking brake engagement sensor.
7. Release the parking brake lever and make sure that the rear wheels do not drag when turning and turn easily and smoothly.
8. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
9. Install the center console (see chapter "Body").
Checking the travel of the parking brake pedal (5-door hatchback)
Press the parking brake pedal with a force of 294 N. Count the audible clicks.
Pedal travel: 7-8 clicks

Adjust the parking brake pedal travel if necessary.
Removal and installation parking brake cables (5-door hatchback). 1 - parking brake housing cover, 2 - parking brake pedal, 3 - pedal assembly bracket, 4 - parking brake engagement sensor, 5 - parking brake drive cable, 6 - cable bracket, 7 - parking brake release lever, 8, 9 - rear parking brake cable, 10 - regulator, 11 - adjusting nut, 12 - pin, 13 - return spring, 14 - nut, 15 - cable bracket.
Adjustment (hatchback)
1. Place wheel chocks under the front wheels.
2. Jack up and place the rear of the vehicle on stands.
3. Release the parking brake pedal.
4. (2WD models) Remove the parking brake cable cover.
5. Press the brake pedal one click.
6. Remove the spring.

7. Turn the adjusting nut until the rear wheels begin to slow down when turning.
8. Release the parking brake pedal and make sure that the rear wheels do not drag when turning and turn easily and smoothly.
9. Install the spring.
10. Check the travel of the parking brake pedal.
11. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
12. (2WD models) Install the parking brake cable cover.

Removal and installation of cables should be carried out using the assembly drawing "Removal and installation of parking brake cables".
