The ABS system is designed to improve the controllability and stability of the vehicle during sudden braking by monitoring the pressure in the hydraulic drive line of each wheel. When the system's devices are triggered during sudden braking, the wheels are released from the brakes. ABS consists of wheel speed sensors, an electronic control unit and a valve block.

To prevent the ABS system from failing, disconnect the control unit when performing welding work, do not expose the system devices and instruments to elevated temperatures (the system should not be at a temperature above 95°C for no more than 15 minutes). Do not disconnect the control unit or valve block connectors when the ignition is on, do not disassemble non-serviceable units. It is prohibited to independently perform repairs and adjustments to the system units, with the exception of dismantling the units in connection with engine or suspension repair work. If the ABS system indicator light on the instrument panel starts to light, contact a car service center.

Attention! When pressing the brake pedal, you may hear a characteristic noise and feel the pedal pulsate, which is caused by the ABS system being turned on and is not associated with any malfunction.
