Description
1. throttle
2. (1 pin) throttle position sensor
3. speed adjustment screw x.x.
4. Throttle stop screw (don't regulate)
The throttle body is a single-chamber, side-link design. The bottom of the throttle valve is heated by engine coolant from the cylinder head. In the upper part of the throttle body there is a speed adjustment screw x.x., which increases / decreases the air supply bypassing the damper, and a channel for a carbon filter for trapping fuel vapors (EVAP).
Examination
1. Start the engine. Maintain rpm at 3000 rpm (min') without load (in Park or Neutral), until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose (to EVAP carbon filter) on top of the throttle body; connect a pressure gauge to the throttle body.
1, vacuum pump/pressure gauge
3. Let the engine run at idle speed. and make sure the pressure gauge shows no vacuum. If there is a vacuum, check the throttle cable (see above).
4. Make sure the pressure gauge shows vacuum when the throttle valve is slightly opened at idle rpm. If the gauge does not show vacuum, check the passage in the throttle body. If the passage is clogged, clean it with carburetor cleaner.
5. Stop the engine and check that the throttle cable moves smoothly without binding or sticking.
6. If any abnormality is observed when performing the above operations, check:
- Excessive wear or play on the throttle shaft.
- Throttle link sticking or sticking in the fully closed position.
- Clearance between throttle stop screw and throttle lever in fully closed position.
1. Throttle stop screw (don't regulate)
2. Throttle link
3. there should be no gap.
If there is excessive play in the throttle shaft, or if the shaft is seizing or sticking, replace the throttle body.
Withdrawal
1. 22 NM (2.2 kgf/m)
2. MAP sensor
3. throttle cable
4. gasket. replace.
5. IAC valve
6. TP sensor
Note:
- Do not adjust the throttle stop screw.
- After assembly, adjust the throttle cable (see above).
- The TP sensor is not removable.
Disassembly
1. cap; 2. idle speed adjustment screw; 3. ring seal; 4. 3.5 Nm (0.35 kgf/m); 5. IAC valve; 6. O-ring. replace.; 7. TP sensor; 8.2.1 Nm (0.21 kgf/m); 9. MAP sensor; 10. O-ring. replace.
