2. Remove cotter pin and loosen upper arm support ball stud castle nut (see accompanying illustration). Do not remove the nut yet completely to avoid spontaneous separation of the lever from the steering knuckle.
3. Using a puller, release the ball pin of the upper arm support from the steering knuckle (see accompanying illustration). Remove castle nut (try to prevent the fist from falling out, if necessary, tie up the shock absorber assembly with wire).
4a. On Civic models, while working in the engine compartment, loosen the nuts, remove the axle bolts.
4b. Remove the upper control arm assembly from the vehicle (see accompanying illustrations).
5. On Integra models, remove the nuts securing the upper arm to the shock base (see accompanying illustration) and remove the lever by circling it around the coil spring.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the required fastener tightening torques are met.
Note. On Civic models, raise the front suspension with a jack, simulating its full travel while driving, and only then tighten the axle axle bolts of the lever.
