
2. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the upper arm support ball joint nut (see accompanying illustration). Do not remove the nut completely yet to avoid spontaneous separation of the lever from the steering knuckle.

3. Using a puller, release the upper control arm support ball pin from the steering knuckle (see accompanying illustration). Remove the castle nut (try to prevent the knuckle from falling out, if necessary, tie the shock absorber assembly with wire).

4a. On Civic models, working in the engine bay, loosen the nuts and remove the axle bolts.

4b. Remove the upper control arm assembly from the vehicle (see accompanying illustrations).

5. On Integra models, loosen the nuts securing the upper control arm to the impact base (see accompanying illustration) and remove the lever by wrapping it around the coil spring.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the required tightening forces are observed.
Note: On Civic models, raise the front suspension with a jack to simulate full travel while driving before tightening the control arm pivot bolts.
