Replacing ball joints (Honda Civic 6)

1. The suspension of each front wheel uses two ball joints. The upper support is seated in the upper arm assembly, cannot be dismantled and, if it fails, is replaced together with the latter (see Removal and installation the upper control arm of the front suspension).

2. The lower ball joint is seated in the steering knuckle, from where it can be removed using special tools. If the support is worn, remove the steering knuckle (see Removal and installation the steering knuckle and hub assembly) and deliver the assembly to the auto service workshop. It would be better to entrust the replacement to professionals.
