Removal and installation the rear shock absorber assembly with a coil spring (Honda Civic 6)

1. Loosen the wheel nuts, jack up the rear of the car and place it on supports. Remove the rear wheels.



2. If equipped, remove the decorative cover of the upper support of the shock absorber assembly (see accompanying illustration).



3. Loosen the upper support mounting nuts (see accompanying illustration). The medium large one should be left tightened.

Note: Only the two side nuts are subject to release.

4. Loosen the lower shock absorber support bolt (see accompanying illustration).



5. Pull the lower arm down and remove the shock absorber assembly from the coil spring from under the vehicle.

6. The description of the procedure for checking the condition of the shock absorber assembly components is similar to that described in Replacing the shock absorber or coil spring of the front suspension strut assembly for assembling the front suspension.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that all fasteners are tightened to the required force.
