2. Install the parking brake lever and washer onto the hinge pin and secure with a clamp.
Note: Snap the retainer securely to prevent the pivot pin from falling out of the brake shoe.
3. Attach the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.
4. Apply lubricant to each sliding surface
Warning. Dirty brake linings reduce stopping ability. Remove any grease or oil from the brake linings. Wipe off excess grease from parts.
Apply cylinder lubricant (P/N: 08733 B020E) or equivalent rubber lubricant on sliding surfaces as shown.
Apply Molikot 44MA to the ends of the brake pads and the opposing edges of the pads as shown.
5. Clean the threaded parts of the hinges A and B. Coat the threaded parts of the hinges with lubricant. To shorten the hinge rod, tighten the adjusting bolt.
6. Aim the self-adjusting spring first to the self-adjusting lever, then to the brake pad.
7. Install the hinges and upper return spring, noting the direction of installation.
Note: Be careful not to damage the wheel cylinder protective caps.
8. Install the lower return spring.
9. Install the spring pad holders and thrust springs.
10. Install the brake drum.
11. If the wheel cylinder has been removed, bleed the brake system, check for leaks at the brake pipe connections, and tighten if necessary.
12. Press the brake pedal several times to set the brake self-adjusting,
13. Adjust the parking brake.
