1. Apply lubricant to the cylinder (P/N: 08733 B020E) or equivalent rubber lubricant to the sliding surface of the pivot pin and insert the pin into the brake shoe.

2. Install the parking brake lever and washer onto the hinge pin and secure with a retainer.

3. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.

4. Apply lubricant to each sliding surface

Warning: Contaminated brake pads reduce stopping ability. Remove grease or oil from brake pads. Wipe excess grease from components.


Apply cylinder grease (P/N: 08733 B020E) or equivalent rubber lubricant to sliding surfaces as shown.

5. Clean the threaded parts of the joints A and B. Coat the threaded parts of the joints with grease. To shorten the rod of the joints, tighten the adjusting bolt.

6. Aim the self-adjusting spring first at the self-adjusting lever, then at the brake shoe.

7. Install the ball joints and upper return spring, remembering the installation direction.

Note: Be careful not to damage the wheel cylinder protective caps.


8. Install the lower return spring.

9. Install the brake shoe spring retainers and thrust springs.

10. Install the brake drum.

11. If the wheel cylinder has been removed, bleed the brake system, check for leaks at the brake pipe connections, and tighten if necessary.

12. Press the brake pedal several times to set the brake self-adjustment,
