Inspection/Torque Specifications
1. Inspect the brake hoses for damage, wear, leaks, kinks or kinks.
2. Check brake lines for damage, rust and leaks. Also check for bent brake lines.
3. Check for leaks in the hose and line swivels and connections and tighten if necessary.
Attention: When repairing a brake hose, always replace the brake hose clamp
Replacing the hose
Attention:
- Before assembly, check that all parts are free of dust and other foreign particles. Always replace parts with new ones when specified.
- Never let brake fluid get on your car, it can damage the paint; if it gets on the paint, wash it off immediately with water.
1. Replace the brake hose if the hose is kinked, cracked, or leaking.
2. Disconnect the brake hose from the brake line using a 10 mm wrench.
3. Remove and discard the brake hose clamp from the brake hose.
4. Remove the union bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the brake mechanism.
5. Remove the brake hose bracket from the steering knuckle, and always replace the bracket and hose with new ones.
6. Install the brake hose bracket and brake hose onto the knuckle first, then attach the brake hose to the brake mechanism with the union bolt and new sealing washers.
7. Install the brake hose onto the brake hose bracket with a new brake hose clamp.
8. Connect the brake line to the brake hose.
9. After installing the brake hose, bleed the brake system.
10. Check the following:
- Check brake hose and line joints for leaks and tighten if necessary.
- Check the brake hoses for kinks or kinks.
