Control
1. The interlock switch is not installed on all models, it is located at the upper end of the clutch pedal. The switch has two outputs: one is connected to "weight", and the second goes to the starter relay. With the clutch disengaged when the ignition key is turned to "start", the starter relay is energized through the interlock switch and the starter starts to rotate.
2. If the engine starts to rotate with the clutch engaged (unpressed pedal) - Adjust the lock switch. Also, if the engine does not rotate with the clutch disengaged (pressed pedal).
3. If the engine does not rotate when the pedal is depressed, this means that either the starter relay is not energized through the switch, or the switch is defective.
4. Using a voltmeter or a test lamp, trace the electrical circuit, the diagram of which is given in the paragraph of Chapter 12.
Replacement
5. Disconnect the electrical connector, loosen the adjusting nut and remove the switch from the bracket.
Adjustment
6. Loosen the nut and turn the switch until normal operation is restored: with the clutch pedal depressed and the ignition key in position "start" the motor must rotate.
